Vodafone Romania reports annual results for the financial year 2010 - 2011

Vodafone Romania announces key performance indicators for the financial year 2010/2011, ended March 31, 2011, as reported today by Vodafone Group Plc.
Vodafone Romania registered a total of 9,196,742 customers at the end of the financial year 2010/2011 corresponding to a decrease of 533.000 customers as compared to same period previous year.
The drop in customer base resulted from the disconnections of the inactive prepaid SIMs and a restatement of the base due to the application of new reporting standards.
Postpaid customers accounted for 37 % and prepaid for 63 % of Vodafone Romania’s total customer base.
While revenues continued to drop year on year in the context of the economic challenges that affected our customers, the rate of revenue decline has slowed down quarter on quarter showing a long term recovery trend of the market. The adoption rate of mobile data services and especially of Internet on Your Mobile increased significantly driven by value for money propositions including affordable smartphones.
Total revenue amounted to EUR 835.6 million, a decrease of 3.9% as compared to the same quarter last year and 9.3% on a full year basis.
Service revenue reached EUR 797.2 million at March 31, 2011, a decrease of 6.6% as compared to same quarter last year, and a drop of 10.6% on a full year basis.
EBITDA was EUR 305.6 million for the financial year 2010/ 2011, which represents a 22.8% year on year decrease, and EBITDA margin was 36.6% . This financial year, the operational profit was impacted by the Competition Council fine applied to Vodafone Romania.
Mobile ARPU (Average Revenue per User) was EUR 6.5 for the financial year ended March 31, 2011, and EUR 6.1 for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
