The Danish retailer JYSK leases 1,200 sqm in Colosseum Retail Park

Colosseum Retail Park, developed by Nova Imobiliare SRL, continues the leasing process by securing the Danish retailer Jysk, which will occupy a retail box of 1,200 sqm and is scheduled to open on 10 April of this year. The transaction was negotiated by JLL, the leasing agent of the project..
Colosseum Retail Park has been open since 2011 and has 37,500 sqm of retail space. Situated in the North-West Bucharest, it provides easy access both to downtown and to the Northern Ring Road. The main tenants at Colosseum are Carrefour, Romania’s only Leroy Merlin Bricolage and Altex.
The retail gallery in front of Carrefour contains smaller shops and service providers making Colosseum Retail Park popular with shoppers. The access to Colosseum Retail Park is also excellent. With over 2.300 free parking places, a connection with the city through the public transport bus line and with two free of charge dedicated transportation lines that link the center to Piata Chibrit and Chitila it remains popular with not only the surrounding neighbourhoods but also the whole of Bucharest.
A spokesman from Nova Imobiliare added “this new leasing to JYSK represents confidence in the Bucharest retail market and confidence in Colosseum which, as a retail destination, is going from strength to strength. Footfall numbers continue to increase and there is a similar story reported by our tenants with their turnover. This month alone the footfall is 15% higher than last year. With these indicators and this new letting we are confident in delivering a further 15,000 sqm of retail space to provide an ever better shopping experience to our clients.”
“We are currently in advanced negotiations with other retailers for the leasing of the last remaining big box unit of 2.200 sqm and for preleases of the next phase of the retail park. The considerable turnovers registered by the existing tenants and the increasing footfall with a high conversion rate generated interest from other retailers that traditionally operate large concept/big box retail and intend to have a notable presence in the North-West area of Bucharest”, declares Carmen Ravon , head of Retail Agency for JLL Romania, also responsible for closing this lease agreement.
